The turnout was amazing for the cancer walk this past weekend. The rain did not dampen the spirits of the hundreds that gathered at Symphony Park in Charlotte. The opening ceremonies were inspiring with the stories of survivors, a little stretching, and a loud send off to cheers and applause. Thank you to all of my teammates who joined the walk for this great cause. Together we can make a difference!!!

It has been articulated that Debt Collectors are revered in company with Lawyers and Morticians. This resolute, as pedantic as it may resound, rings true with the overwhelming majority of consumers, those who are current on their lines of credit and those for whom delinquency is a mainstay.  The fact is, the preponderance of Collection Agencies are of an ethical, responsible, and professional métier; operating within state mandates, following guidelines of a Congressional act, and regulated by some of the most influential government offices in the country. 

With all of these governances there are still the outliners.  Companies, like within so many other industries, that operate at the fringes.  These bad apples, who function solely out of greed, or ignorance, or both, may tarnish some proactive attempts from organizations making great strides in consumer education and ethical debt resolution techniques, but will not thwart or offset all our efforts. One way in which American Profit Recovery is raising money for the Making Strides breast Cancer walk is to allow our employees to buy casual dress for the month of September.  We generally dress in business attire, but this month an employee can donate $25 to the American Cancer Society and get to dress down for the month. 

Well, I am proud to say that we ”bought” $1,000 worth of casual dress this month.  Not bad for a collection agency, huh?  Most collecion agencies collect money, but we also enjoy giving.  The $1,000 will be donated to the American Cancer Society through our Making Strides breast cancer walk teams.

I am proud to see so many of our employees participating to a great cause.

We serve a number of industries here at American Profit Recovery and we like to think we have a pretty good handle on the ins and outs of each particular industry. We know the challenges involved in being an oil dealer and repair company and collecting on late invoices and we serve many in the medical and dental field, helping recover their outstanding fees. In many parts of the country, the warm season is coming to an end and many businesses are looking at receivables that continue to lag. Many of these businesses don’t have the manpower to chase these down during the busy season so when it slows down they begin to go after the invoices that have not been paid. Depending on how far out these late invoices are can determine if these businesses will ever get paid. That’s a problem and one we can correct. Michelle recently told you on her Blog about the several trade shows APR is taking part in this month and how APR will be donating five percent of all the orders they take from those shows. We know not everyone can get to these shows or that these shows will pertain to your industry. American Profit Recovery will have a presence at a number of industry trade shows this fall. We love getting out of the office and meeting new faces and seeing some familiar ones.  These shows give us the chance to not only get more acquainted with the industries we are serving, but to show just how different we are than many in the collection industry.  (We rarely have much competition at the shows!) 

 We’re not your average collection agency you know … we are so different in fact, that this fall, instead of another pen or can coozie give away, we are giving money away instead to the American Cancer Society.

Amazing how these things always seem to come at JUST the right time.  For spending time with family or friends, some are camping or headed to a lake to relax, others are already enjoying time off and blogging while on a delay at the airport (wonder who that is …)
